Applications for tickets to the London 2012 Olympic Games have now closed.

If you applied for Olympic Games tickets prior to 26 April 2011 your application will be processed and, where demand for tickets exceeds supply, London 2012 will use an automated and random selection process (‘ballot’) to ensure the fairest possible distribution and allocation of tickets on a session-by-session basis. If you are successful, payment will be taken between 10 May 2011 and 10 June 2011. Please ensure you have sufficient funds available between these dates. A notification will be sent to confirm which tickets you have been allocated by 24 June 2011.

The Paralympic Games ticket prices and draft competition schedule have been released. Please note this schedule is subject to change and a full schedule will be released later in 2011.

Applications for tickets to the London 2012 Paralympic Games will be accepted on this website for people who are aged 16 and over and are residents of the UK or a designated European country between 9 September 2011 and 30 September 2011. London 2012 also welcomes applications from UK Armed Forces.

For the purposes of ticket sales for the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games, residents of the UK are defined as:

  • Those who live in: England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands (Jersey and Guernsey), the Isle of Man; or
  • Those who live in a UK Overseas Territory: Gibraltar, Anguilla, British Antarctic Territory, British Indian Ocean Territory, Falkland Islands, Montserrat, Pitcairn, Henderson, Ducie and Oeno Islands, St Helena and St Helena Dependencies (Ascension and Tristan da Cunha), South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands, Sovereign Base Areas of Akrotiri and Dhekelia and The Turks and Caicos Islands.

Residents of designated European countries

Applications for tickets to the London 2012 Olympic Games on this website have now closed.

If you are a resident of a designated European country and have applied for Olympic Games tickets on this website prior to 26 April 2011 your application will be processed and, where demand for tickets exceeds supply, London 2012 will use an automated and random selection process (‘ballot’) to ensure the fairest possible distribution and allocation of tickets on a session-by-session basis. If you are successful, payment will be taken between 10 May 2011 and 10 June 2011. Please ensure you have sufficient funds available between these dates. Alternatively, you are eligible to apply for tickets to the London 2012 Olympic Games via your local National Olympic Committee (NOC) or appointed Authorised Ticket Reseller (ATR). A full list of contact details for all NOCs and ATRs can be found in Ticket eligibility.

Payment

If you applied online using Visa:

Please ensure you have sufficient funds available on the Visa card you provided between Tuesday 10 May 2011 and Friday 10 June 2011. Please also ensure that your Visa card will not expire before May 2011. If your Visa card is declined or rejected, your application may be withdrawn. You will only be charged the actual value of your tickets once the application process is complete.

If you applied using a cheque or postal orders:

Cheques and postal orders will not be deposited until your application has been processed between Tuesday 10 May 2011 and Friday 10 June 2011.

If you submitted a cheque and are not allocated all of the tickets you requested, you will be notified by Friday 24 June 2011 and a letter confirming the refund process will be posted to you by Sunday 31 July 2011. If you are not allocated any tickets you will be notified by Friday 24 June 2011 and your original cheque will be destroyed.

If you submitted postal orders and are not allocated any or all of the tickets you requested, you will be notified by Friday 24 June 2011 and a letter confirming the refund process will be posted to you by Sunday 31 July 2011.

Notification period

All applicants will be notified via email or letter by Friday 24 June 2011 regarding the status of their application and if they have been successful in obtaining tickets.

Paralympic Games ticket applications

The Paralympic Games ticket prices and draft competition schedule have been released. Please note this schedule is subject to change and a full schedule will be released later in 2011.

You can apply for tickets to the London 2012 Paralympic Games between 9 September 2011 and 30 September 2011.

This will follow a similar sales process to Olympic Games tickets. In recognition of Visa’s longstanding support of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games, we are proud to accept only Visa (debit, credit and prepaid) for London 2012 Paralympic Games ticket purchases.

Future ticket sales

Remaining tickets for the London 2012 Olympic Games will become available for sale online and by phone on a first come, first served basis, using Visa only, from winter 2011.

Residents outside the UK and designated European countries

If you are not a resident of the UK or a designated European country, regardless of citizenship, you can apply for Olympic Games tickets via your National Olympic Committee (NOC). Some NOCs may appoint an Authorised Ticket Reseller (ATR) in order to help the general public obtain tickets and services relating to the London 2012 Olympic Games.
