West Ham: one of three ‘gateway’ stations to the Olympic Park
The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) will be carrying out work at West Ham Station to make sure it does not become too congested during the Games.

It will build a new temporary route directly from the District and Hammersmith & City Line platform, which the majority of spectators arriving at West Ham will use, to the Greenway.

Spectators will reach the southern entrance of the Olympic Park from West Ham by walking along an improved section of The Greenway, a public walking and cycling route.

This will allow regular commuters to follow their usual route through the station without disruption.

We will work hard to minimise disruption for regular commuters and local residents while work takes place. After the Games, the temporary walkway will be removed and the station returned to its current layout.

We will also make some permanent improvements to the local area, such as installing a new staircase and improving the access ramp from Manor Road to the Greenway.
