Watching the 2012 Olympic Games: Triathlon

London Olympic games 2012 is an event of a life time and Spin Palace likes our chances of winning. Play all your favourite casino games at www.spinpalace.co.uk

How it works

This gruelling event sees competitors battle it out in the water, on their bikes and in a final run. Olympic triathlon combines a 1.5km swim, a 40km cycle ride and a 10km run. 110 competitors, split evenly between men and women, will battle it out in the two medal events

Who’s hot

In the men’s event Germany’s Jan Frodeno won gold in 2008 and will be up against his compatriot Steffen Justus, Australia’s Brad Kahlefeldt and Spain’s Javier Gomez. In the women’s Australia’s Emma Moffat, the 2009 world champion, will hope to improve on 2008 bronze

Home hopes

Team GB has serious medal hopefuls in both the men’s and women’s competitions. Alistair Brownlee, above, will be a serious contender after winning the world championships in 2009 and he may be competing against his younger brother Jonathan. Helen Jenkins and Vicky Holland will be hoping to make their mark in the women’s event

The road to London

  • 8-10 Apr World Championship Series first event in Sydney
  • 6-7 Aug World Championship Series penultimate event in London
  • 10-11 Sep World Championship Series final in Beijing

The stage

The event will begin and end in Hyde Park. A swim in the Serpentine, right, is what awaits competitors at the start before they cycle on a course which takes in Buckingham Palace and Wellington Arch. The contest will culminate with a run around the Serpentine

What they say

“The venue’s brilliant in the centre of London. It’s going to be a big spectacle. It’s no secret I’d like a hillier course but it should still make for an amazing race?

Alistair Brownlee

Tempted to be there?

You can apply for Olympic tickets until 26 April. Visit http://www.tickets.london2012.com/

Tickets to watch Olympic events are not sold on a first-come-first-served basis – applications can be submitted at any stage in the 42-day period from 15 March to 26 April. There is no advantage in applying on the first day or the last day

Online payment is exclusively by Visa debit card, credit card or pre-paid card. Alternatively you can submit a paper application form which is available in Lloyds TSB branches and pay by cheque or postal order as well as Visa

Customers may not get all the tickets they apply for owing to high demand. Once an application is processed, customers cannot change their orders and must have the funds to pay for the tickets they have been allocated

This is a fair process and a fair ballot will be run for oversubscribed events where demand exceeds supply

The application process for tickets for the Paralympic Games will begin on 9 September 2011 and tickets for the London 2012 Festival (part of the Cultural Olympiad) in October 2011
