About Lord’s Cricket Ground

Lord’s is the home ground of Middlesex County Cricket Club, and has been a venue for top-class cricket since the late 19th century.

Comparatively little preparation will be needed to get this world-class venue ready to host Archery for the 2012 Games.

An Archery range will be created on the outfield of the main ground and the Nursery ground. A venue use agreement has been signed with the Marylebone Cricket Club.

During the Games

Crowds of 6,500 will enjoy the Archery competition of the Olympic Games, with one field of play inside the stadium.

After the Games

Lord’s will return to its traditional role as the home of cricket, providing a base for the Marylebone Cricket Club and Middlesex County Cricket Club.

Archery equipment from the training, warm up and competition venues will be given to clubs and schools across the country.
